Screw BR Mgmt

i came across this post on p5's the other day "Screw Bankroll Management"

Total investment: $15 + $7.40 in Tournament Fees = $12.40
Total Cashout: $200
Total Profit: $187.20
Do this once a day for 100 days and you'll have a bankroll of $20,000
Screw Bankroll Management!
Play poker all night, bang chicks all day!
he discovered a flaw in his math shortly after starting but it's an interesting concept. if i was getting rakeback on 'Stars it would cover some of the vig at least. i'll probably give this a few tries anyway just to see how far i get.

Mixing it up

as you could probably tell from my previous post, i'm playing more tournaments.

tournament poker is the work of the devil

it's the anti-christ of poker and a real test of patience and perseverance. i've decided to try playing more than my usual these past few days and results have been shit so far.

cash games were becoming a bore. i've also been playing alot of sng's over the past few weeks, doing well there at least.

the "Beginner" sng's running on Bodog are def worth looking into (half the field is paid). they've got to be the easiest way for an avg player to consistently profit at poker with minimal risk. there are lots of regs. but, even the regs are pretty bad when it's bubble time.

the next few weeks, i'm gonna try to play more tournaments during the day. in the past, i stayed away because alot of ballers are playing the daily guarantees. but, there's still enough drunken euro-donk sOOted monkey money to make it worth while.

BR building via FTP Tier 3 sng's

with BBT3 comin' up, i decided the time was right to build a BR on FawkTiltPokah.

i've been playing $8.70 18-player sng's and $6.50/$15 Token frenzies on occasion the last few days so i could build my token arsenal for Tier 3 sng's which pay $310 for 1st. one thing i really like about FTP is their sats and token tourneys. if you're willing to take the time, you can turn $6.50 into $310 if things go your way and you have about 3hrs to spare.

which i do :P

i had two (2) $24+2 tokens and one (1) $69+6 token in my account from previous sng's / token frenzies. token frenzies IMO are the easiest and cheapest way for any decent MTT player to get tokens. some people think they're a big waste of time. but if you're BR is limited, it's a good way to turn something good outta almost nuthin'.

i played two Tier 2 18-player sng's and won one (1) $69+6 token. then i played two Tier 3 single table sng's, finishing 2nd in the 1st one for $186 and took down 1st in my 2nd Tier 3 for $310.

the best part about my Tier 3 win is, i was at a 12-1 chip disadvantage when we got HU.

no joke!

i had a little over T1000 with the chip leader at T12000+

------------------
HAND #1 (1st hand HU)
------------------
Full Tilt Poker, NL Hold'em Tournament,
Tier Three $69+$6 Sit & Go, 80/160 Blinds, 2 Players

SB: 12,445
Hero (BB): 1,055

Pre-Flop: (240) 5 9 dealt to Hero (BB)

SB folds

Results: 160 Pot
Hero mucked 5 9 and WON 160 (+80 NET)

------------------
HAND #44 (last hand of HU)
------------------
Full Tilt Poker, NL Hold'em Tournament,
Tier Three $69+$6 Sit & Go, 120/240 Blinds, 2 Players

BB: 4,268
Hero (SB): 9,232

Pre-Flop: (360) A K dealt to Hero (SB)
Hero raises to 720 BB raises to 4,268 and is All-In,
Hero calls 3,548

Flop: (8,536) T 5 4 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Turn: (8,536) 7 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: (8,536) K (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: 8,536 Pot
BB showed 7 A (a pair of Sevens) and LOST (-4,268 NET)
Hero showed A K (a pair of Kings) and WON 8,536 (+4,268 NET)

i really didn't expect to have a shot at 1st going HU with such a huge disadvantage. but, he played very passive at times and i caught cards when i needed to. most players in the tier 3's are playing very tight. which is helpful late during crunch time.

i was able to turn less than $30 into $500 after only a few hrs of "work". i'll be playing more token frenzies and Tier 3's over the next few weeks. btw, if anyone is interested in seeing all the HH's from the HU comeback, let me know. i'm not a pxfactor subscriber. otherwise, i woulda posted it there.
