Wake up people

I've been mixing up a new concoction for breakfast. Diet Pepsi Max + Myoplex Vanilla Protein Shake.

good shit!

I'm not really a breakfast person but i found that by the time afternoon rolls around, i start to get sluggish. Most of it is just cuz i really am a slug. As most of you who saw me in vegas could probably tell, I haven't been to the gym in quite a while. I used to play hoops twice a week and go to the gym at least 3x.

I'm not about to make any resolutions here except that i'm gonna try to start eating better.

We don't eat terribly bad now but, there are a few things I need to cut out such as snacking late at night (which is the worst) and indulging on the weekends. if i just replace fries with a salad everytime, that will make a difference.

What i really need tho is more exercise. but, i'm having a difficult time getting motivated. i used to have a workout partner at my old job and a bunch of guys who played hoops at lunchtime. i have to get self motivated now.

But, it's hard to pull away from the PC with WSOP updates flowing in, Dr. Pauly live blogging, PokerRoad podcasts/video blogs and Euros splashing around at the virtual tables.

switching gears

While i still think the Bodonkey was a huge success, i'm very disappointed with the end result. Our TOC winner chose to pass on playing the greatest tournament in the world for $500 USD.

The contest rules clearly state:

FINAL ROUND PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE:

One (1) GRAND PRIZE:IF the winner wants to participate in the WSOP Main Event, funds for buy-in to the WSOP Main Event ($10,000) and $2000 cash for travel.( Approximate retail ("ARV") $12,000USD);

OR

IF winner does not wish to participate in the WSOP Main Event, $2500 cash.(ARV $2500USD).
I never even considered someone might take the $2500 instead of the Main Event seat, lesson learned. Next time if we're lucky enuf to have a next time, we'll either have a 2nd chance tournament for the seat or it'll go to the runner up. I'll probably put up a poll to get everyone's opinion on that.

To be clear, Bodog is keeping the seat. The TOC winner passed on it so it goes back on the shelf. Believe me I fought hard trying to get the Main Event seat to the runner up or at least have a 2nd chance tournament this time around. But, the rules are clear and I can't change them.

PokerStars and Full Tilt are running WSOP qualifiers this weekend (June 22). PokerStars has a 25 seat guarantee this Sunday ($650 buy-in) and Full Tilt is running their $500-35 qualifier Sunday as well. There's also tonight's WSOP 1k Qualifier on Full Tilt.

I'm trying to satellite into all of the these.

Sucks the guy isn't making the trip.

Too bad Scotty didn't know that and maybe he coulda paid the guy the difference of 2nd place money and 1500 for the main event seat.

Yeah, that really sucks...as you mentioned alternatives for a possible "next season" of the bodonkey: another way to do it was that all the ToC players would have to give a statement prior to the ToC-tourney - will you be able to play the main event: yes/no...if finishers 1-x said no: player x+1 gets the package...or something along those lines...

I'm sure you (and Nadia) can come up with a solution, IF there is a new season - which I really hope :-)

Once again, thanks for hooking us broggers up with THE value-added tourney series of the year :-) Really appreciated...

I liked the fact that the rules made the decision go to the WSOP easy. I'd be tempted to keep the $10,000 otherwise. Too bad the winner had to come from the other side of the world.

That concoction sounds like something Laverne and Shirley would drink.

Your Breakfast Drink sounds nasty.

Bodog certainly set up TOC so that you would have thought it was no brainer to play ME.

You looked like you gained a little weight from the Vegas photos but I didn't want to say anything, especially since I recently went over the 200 lb mark myself. Portion control is the issue for me as I go to the gym 5x/week. Sucks about the winner not going to the WSOP, perhaps it not be an option to cash out or make if something like $100 if you want the cash. True dat, that drink does sound nasty.
