One time Pokah Gods, one time...

I was surprised to see the $27r's PokerStar's runs the day of their $650 WSOP Qualifier was a turbo structure. You get $1000 chips instead of $1500 and $1500 at the add-on instead of $2000. The blind levels are 5 mins instead of 15. Monkey push bonanza.

I registered for the 1st one i saw open anyway.

Over 100 fish jumped in this one with the top 14 finishers getting seats into the $650. I maintained my title as "King of the sorry sac who can't win a race on the bubble" and finished 18th (AJo < K6s; AQo < 57o). If i win one of those two races, i'm in.

Honestly, the most frustrating part of tournament poker is racing for chips. I try to avoid races but, there are so many situations late in a tournament where you really have no choice.

I really have no idea how i continued with tournament poker for so long. IMO it's a good idea to take shots at tournament scores but, you cannot consistently make money there. At least most of us can't. You'll end up bleeding down your bankroll trying to hit the lottery.

I made a promise to myself this year that I wouldn't spend a bunch of money trying to get into the WSOP. So far, i've done a pretty good job. Unfortunately, when most of my time is spent trying to qualify for a satellite and playing sng's so I don't have to deposit $$$ it can begin to feel like pokah purgatory.

PokerStars is running another 25 Seat WSOP Main Event Qualifier Guarantee next Sunday. If you think i won't bust my ass trying to get in, you don't know me very well.
