that's "ar-ee-ay" Buddy. got it? good.
Unfortunately, Tina and I were never seated across from Josh and didn't get a chance at his $100 bounty. Josh mixed it up pretty early losing about T$1000 chips then busted out a player, dubbling up to over T$4k.
This was the $100 hand. Josh raised pf with 77 and Abby17 reraised with AQo putting Josh to a decision for all his chips. Josh decided to gamboool early (it's a $10 tournament) and jammed his remaining stack. Abby17 spiked an Ace on the flop and it held scooping the pot and Josh's $100 bounty. Abby rode that stack all the way to the top 3 payouts.
The players at Josh's table made him feel welcome in the chatbox and he seemed to be having a good time. But that all came to a screeching halt after he lost a coin flip. For some reason, BDR's guest decided to blurt out a bunch of derogatory comments about Josh after he busted.
Several people at Bodog were invited to listen in to last night's "show" along with Josh. I'm not sure if he was or not. But, i will say this. Alot of effort goes into planning and producing these "special" blogger events / tournament series' with added prizes. They're not a slam dunk to put together.
If you had a home game and were able to convince a well-known pro to sit and donk it up with your friends and family, would you blurt out a bunch of derogatory comments after he lost all his chips? Just think before you speak. That's all i ask.
Back to last night's Bodonkey. Last week's winner, TripJax went heads-up with "StinkyBritches" for this week's title and valuable TOC points. i've never played against Stinky in prior Bodonkeys but, i will say some of his plays seemed a bit sketchy. hey "it's a $10 tournament". Stinky got the best of TJ taking down 1st place for $156 cash + T$109. Trip won $104 cash + T$109 finishing 2nd and Abby really came out the big winner this week with $62 cash + $100 bounty + T$109 for 3rd.
After picking up 1st and 2nd place finishes the last two weeks and no TOC points prior to that, TripJax has catapulted to 6th place on the leaderboard. I dropped down to 7th after picking up no points this week. My QQ was no match for RecessRampage's monkeypush from EP with JTo.
There are 10 more tournaments left in the Bodog Blogger Series after this week's tournament which still gives everyone plenty of time to squeek into the top 18 spots on the leaderboard and compete on June 10th for the 12k WSOP Main Event Package. Register early!

I conveniently forgot about that monkey push...
Nice job getting Arieh to play with you guys man.
But I don't really like the direction of trying to influence what Buddy or anyone else for that matter says about a guy who admittedly made a complete assclown of himself on national tv a couple of years ago at the WSOP. And don't get me wrong, I am all about giving Josh a second chance to not be an anushat, but I like Buddy et al to feel like they are free to say whatever they want to say on the radio, and I think that very freedom is what makes BDR so great to listen to.
All this said, I was listening last night so I do not know what specifically may have been said about Arieh. But I would be happier if the blowdog people could just get themselves comfortable with whatever people are saying about the people they choose to shill for their site. Nobody forced them to pick people like Arieh, Jamie Gold, etc., right?
Correction: All that said, I was *not* listening last night so I don't know specifically what was said or not said on BDR about Josh.
all i'm asking for is a little consideration to our "guests". if Jamie Gold was invited to a home game you hosted would you want somebody to blast him after he busted out? i don't think so. just common courtesy.
i enjoy BDR as much as the next guy. not trying to censor it. but, a few less MiamiDon "FUCK YOU!" sound clips wouldnt hurt.
just my opinion.
I was not listening either, but I would venture to say whoever was talking probably would have held back some had they known Arieh might be listening. Or maybe not, depending on the person.
In the short time I played Stinky, I recall him being very LAG. It worked against me as he had the chips and applied constant pressure.
Thanks for hosting smokkee.
Stinky was a Bodog WSOP player, can't remember where I read it this morning but someone found it.
Does he have a blog?
During chats with Recess and Don yesterday we discussed that if you have Josh covered in a $10 tourney with a $100 bounty on his head you have to gamble if you think you are on the 40% side of a coinflip.
WTF chance would any of us have facing that situation.
Wasn't listening to BDR but if I am the pro in that spot you know you are going to have to flip eventually. Might as well do it early so that you can cover the rest of the table and put an end to flipping for life
I wasn't listening either, but I am not sure why anyone was giving Josh a hard time. I was the one who ended up collecting the bounty and sat 2 seats to his left the entire time. What I saw was a guy that was likely used to doing a lot of splashing around early in tournaments (probably not ideal online, shorter stack strategy), and he made what I thought was likely good laydowns (at least 3 to me) where I had monster hands, and then finally got his money in as a slight favorite. Sure, he could have been way behind, but if he was paying attention at all, I had pushed him off of 3 previous hands, and I had to figure I just might be FOS.
Just my $0.02.
Also, I loved playing with him. I admit I am a stargazer and it is pretty cool. The $100 doesn't hurt either.
Thanks
Abby17
It isn't just about giving a guest some respect, it is about giving everyone some respect. The asshattery is getting out of hand.
Thanks again for all the work you put in getting this done for everyone.
Sorry to hear about the incident. Unfortunately I was not at Arieh's table. Keep up the great work with Bodog.
Here is what I found on the internet about Arieh:
Arieh is something of a divisive figure, such as often relying on verbal bullying when trying to force a hand. He has earned the friendship and respect of many of his competitors, but has also committed several faux pas during his career, lambasting Harry Demetriou after an important hand in the Main Event of the 2004 World Series of Poker and, after being eliminated from that tournament, pulling one of the remaining players (David Williams) aside and whispering, "bust this motherfucker," referring to the other remaining opponent, eventual champion Greg Raymer. He subsequently apologized after both incidents.
He probably can give as good as he takes but since he took his time to play a little civilty might be in order.
Nice job getting Arieh to play! I loved seeing Fischman in a few of the BBT3 events, and having Arieh at the BoDonkey is killer! Of course, I'm the awestruck type that would just kiss his @$$ and spew my stack to him though. (Can't imagine why/how someone would feel comfortable being derogatory toward him on a public forum like BDR!?)
I played at Josh's table, and I must comment that he was very friendly in the chat and did not display any of the "bad boy" behavior that he has a reputation for (and that some bloggers have exhibited). I enjoyed playing at the same table as him, even though I misplayed the Hammer against him. He was unaware of the Hammer tradition in blogger tourneys, and I didn't provide a proper introduction to it. Sorry about that.
I hope Josh comes back and plays again, whether they put a bounty on him or not.
