more o' the same...
i played sum low stakes sng's and token tourneys on FTP to "test" my luck before i tried some some bigger tourneys and got nada. i won't bore u with the details.
so, i close up shop there and move on to Bodog.
got past the 1st break of their 10k. but, never really got much going. i finally pushed my short stack in with KTo after an EP limper. he insta-calls with Ah7h. flop comes T-7-X rainbow. good news huh? ya that's what i thought. then, another 7 hit the river and i'm on the rail.
in the 5k, i got past the 1st break with an avg stack. then bleed some chips whiffing the flop a coupla times. with the blinds at 100/200 i push my $1800 chips all in with 99 and get two callers. one flips AQo and the other shows 33. time to triple up? no, a 3 hits the flop and i'm done. thought i was gonna get back in it there.
i take a break from the junk kicking until the 25k at 8:30pm EST ($40+4 buy-in). the tourney starts with 468 players. somehow, i get through the 1st 3 breaks with an above avg stack.
could this be the one ??
i take out a player with 88 vs. AJ. OMFG i won a coin flip! with 20k in chips, i pick up AQo. a player with half as many chips pushes. he's been pushing some marginal hands. so, i call. he flips KQo. a King hits the flop.
now, i have less than 10x the BB. blinds are at 600/1200. i pick up ATo the very next hand and push it all in in EP. i get called by a big stack who wakes up with AQ and his hand holds. i finish in 63rd place, 18 spots from the 1st payout.
we're flying back to Tina's homeland (CLE) tomorrow night. so, i probably won't get much playing time this weekend. it might be a blessing in disguise.

I know I sound like a broken record, but again you transcribe damn near the same type of beat I took.
I raise in EP w/QQ, get one caller. Flop comes J-high. I bet 3/4 pot, player jams his obvious AJ and I instacall. AJ it is and I'm looking good until the river A. Ok then...
I see I've still got one post of yours to read so hopefully it's reporting on better results.
